Six Feet High and Rising Band

SCOTT 'JEFF' THURMAN

Bass Guitar

Scott “Jeff” Thurman is our latest bass player ... in a long string of bass players to join SIX FEET HIGH AND RISING. Yes, he is tall enough.

Scott (Jeff) is the only band member to have a day job, which the band strongly discourages, on account of the TREMENDOUS amount of money we make as a band.

The reason Scott (Jeff) needs a day job is that whilst attending the University of North Carolina, Scott (Jeff) developed a strategy of betting heavily against the UNC Men's basketball team. It was an interesting strategy, but it left him heavily in debt, resulting in Scott (Jeff) losing one of his toes, which is why he plays a five-string bass (don’t ask).

Scott (Jeff) has played previously in CHANGE OF STANDARD, well known Fort Worth rockers from the late ’80s and early ’90s known for their Metroplex magahit, “Infrared Cherries in the Snow.” from their debut album, UNKNOWN AT PRESENT TIME. The band tried to continue their mega-success in the greater south Hulen Area in Austin, but without the rhythmic soul of their bassist Scott (Jeff) Thurman (who was still in high school) the band floundered on the college scene in Austin.

Scott’s (Jeff’s) day job is a(n) Urologist. This explains why we chose him, because many of our songs fit that theme: Harder to Pee, Hurts So Bad, and some song about having your pants around your feet, and of course, Ring of Fire.
